What is an escape game?

Escape games are a popular live entertainment activity for groups of friends, families or coworkers. The most well-known version is the escape room, where players are locked in a themed room and must follow a series of clues to solve puzzles and complete a mission within a set time. There are many other formats too, such as hall escapes, escape boxes, escape express games or escape cubes. And if you’ve never tried this activity before, we recommend starting with our original escape room Operation Steampunk — a dynamic, fun game with an adjustable difficulty level to suit your group.

Will we actually be locked in? Is it scary or claustrophobic?

Our games are not horror experiences and take place in spacious rooms. Depending on the game, the door may or may not be closed, but don’t worry — even when it is, all our rooms are equipped with emergency buttons located right next to the door, which allow you to open it if needed. In any case, a game master is always monitoring your session and can be contacted if you feel uncomfortable at any point during the experience.

Do we need any prior knowledge? What if we get stuck and can’t find the solution?

Don’t worry — our games are designed for both beginners and experienced players. No specific prior knowledge is required, just logic, creativity and teamwork. Plus, your game master will be following your progress and will assist you with hints if needed.

What languages are available?

Our games are available in Spanish, English and French. You can select your preferred language in the booking form so that your game master can prepare the experience accordingly. For French, please note that we may not always have native-speaking staff available for the game introduction. In that case, the game itself can still be played in French, but the briefing may be given in Spanish or English.

What should I wear?

We recommend comfortable clothing and footwear. If you need reading glasses, don’t forget to bring them. For Virtual Reality experiences, if you wear glasses and have contact lenses, we recommend using the lenses for better comfort.

Can I use my phone?

No. Mobile phones, cameras, tablets or any electronic devices, as well as any external objects, are not allowed. A dedicated space will be provided to store your personal belongings, including phones.

Can I use the bathroom before or after the game?

Yes, we have restrooms available, but we recommend arriving prepared to avoid interruptions during the immersive introduction.

Can minors participate?

Each game's page specifies whether the activity is suitable for minors, the minimum age required, how many minors can participate per adult, and whether it is possible to hire a supervisor for children’s groups. In any case, all minors must present a participation authorization signed by a legal guardian, available in the booking form and below. If any of the conditions are not met, the activity cannot take place, and the booking fee will be lost without any right to compensation.

Can pregnant women participate?

If they have enough mobility to squat easily, pregnant women can enjoy any of our experiences without any issue. If their mobility is more limited, we can adapt the experience slightly. In case of doubt, call us in advance so we can organize your visit under the best possible conditions.

Can color-blind people participate?

Our puzzles are very diverse, so color-blind participants can usually enjoy the game without issues. In some of our experiences, there might be a specific element not adapted to color-blindness. If so, your game master will assist you at the appropriate moment.

Can people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility participate?

Our venue has a ramp for wheelchair access and an accessible bathroom. The game “Operation Steampunk” is suitable for players in a wheelchair, including electric ones. Due to space constraints, we recommend a maximum of one wheelchair per team. If in doubt, call us in advance so we can prepare for your visit accordingly.

Can people with mobility, vision, hearing or general health issues (heart conditions, epilepsy…) participate?

If your specific condition is not covered in the previous questions and you have mobility, vision, hearing or general health issues, please call us before booking. We will let you know if any of our games can be played or adapted to your needs. Each player participates at their own responsibility.

Can I accompany a team without playing?

Accompanying persons are not allowed to stay inside our venue. Only players with a valid booking (and payment) will be admitted. All companions must wait outside without exception.

How can I make a reservation?

To participate in one of our activities, it’s essential to book in advance through our website incognitoescape.es Go to the "Escapes" section, select the game you’re interested in, choose your preferred date and time, and fill out the form with your details and your team’s information. Complete the pre-payment, and you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that your booking is not confirmed until the payment is completed, even if you’ve selected a session and filled in your details. If you encounter any issues or don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact us.

Where can I see the prices?

The price depends on the selected game, the number of players in the team, and the chosen date and time. You’ll find the exact price when selecting a date and time in the booking calendar of each game.

How do I make the payment?

To complete your booking through our website, payment must be made by credit or debit card. Depending on the game, you may choose to pay only a deposit or the full amount. If you are unsure of the final number of players, we recommend booking for 2 people, as no refunds will be given if fewer people attend. Any remaining amount must be paid on-site in cash.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

If you can’t attend, you can reschedule your booking once for free, as long as you notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Any additional changes will incur a €20 fee. If you’re not sure yet when you’ll reschedule, you’ll have 6 months to do so.

Exceptionally, date and time changes within 48 hours of the session will be accepted only if you notify us at least 4 hours in advance, and a €20 fee will apply. Changes with less than 4 hours' notice will not be accepted under any circumstances, and the reservation will be lost with no right to refund.

Cancellations are not accepted under any circumstances. No refunds will be given, even in cases of force majeure. Please notify us as early as possible by writing to hola@incognitoescape.es so we can help you reschedule.

I don’t know how many people will come. How should I book?

If you don’t know the total number of participants but already have a date and time in mind, we recommend booking for 2 people. If fewer people attend than reserved, no refund will be issued. The remaining balance can be paid on-site cash. As long as you don’t exceed the maximum number of players for the selected game, you don’t need to notify us of changes in team size. No exceptions will be made if the team exceeds the player limit.

Can I add or remove players from my booking?

For Escape Rooms, you can add players without issue. However, for Virtual Reality experiences, this may not always be possible, so it’s essential to call us first. If fewer players attend than booked, the difference will not be refunded. If you’ve already paid the full amount and more players attend, the additional cost must be paid cash on-site. Please call us in advance to adjust your booking.

How can I gift an escape game?

We offer gift vouchers valid for 6 months for any of our experiences. Go to the “Gifts” section on our website, choose the game you want to gift and the number of players, and make the payment online. You’ll instantly receive a PDF voucher by email.

I have a gift voucher. How do I book?

Go to the "Escapes" section of our website, find the game your voucher is for, and below the calendar, click “I have a gift voucher”. Enter and validate your voucher code, then follow the steps to select a date and time. Check the expiry date on your voucher; this is the last day you can use it. If you contact us before the expiry date, we can extend it by 6 months for a €20 fee. Once expired, the voucher cannot be used or refunded.

What time should we arrive?

Please arrive exactly at the time of your booking — not earlier and not later. If you arrive early, you’ll need to wait outside, as we may still be with another group or preparing your session. If you don’t remember your exact booking time, please check your confirmation email.

What happens if we’re late?

If you arrive late, we will have to shorten your game time to avoid affecting the following groups. If you’re more than 15 minutes late, your booking will be cancelled with no option to reschedule or receive a refund. If you're running late, we appreciate it if you let us know by phone.

Where is INCOGNITO ESCAPE located?

Our venue is in central Madrid, just outside the “Madrid Central” restricted traffic area, so you can access it by car and park nearby. The exact address is Calle de Linneo nº 4, 28005 Madrid.

Can we come by car? Where can we park? Are you inside Madrid Central?

We are just outside the “Madrid Central” restricted traffic zone, so you can come by car and even park on our street. The area is residential, and you’ll usually find blue or green parking spots nearby. We’re also close to the concert venue “La Riviera”, so parking may be more difficult on concert days. Check traffic and allow extra time to park and arrive on time.

How can we get there by public transport?

There are many public transport options to reach INCOGNITO. The nearest metro station is Príncipe Pío (Lines 10, 6, R), a 10-minute walk.

I’ve felt dizzy using VR before. Is this game for me?

Don’t worry! Ubisoft’s Virtual Reality Escape Rooms are designed to avoid motion sickness. The usual cause of discomfort is poor performance or low frame rates — issues that Ubisoft has taken into account when developing these games. Less than 1% of our players report any kind of dizziness.

I’m not really into video games, is this for me?

Absolutely! This is not a traditional video game, but an intuitive experience designed for everyone aged 10 and up. If you can talk, listen, walk and grab objects, you have all the skills you need. These experiences are non-violent and focus on cooperation. Perfect for families, couples or corporate events.

Is it suitable for team building?

It’s made for teams! Every player has a role to play, and you’ll need to work together if you want to escape. The key to success is communication, listening and collaboration… and high fives when you make it out!

I’m afraid of heights, can I still participate?

Your feet will always stay on the ground — you’re 100% safe — but your brain might think otherwise ☺ Our experiences can be intense for those with a strong fear of heights, but they’re also incredibly rewarding when you overcome it. Plus, your game master will be there to support you.

Can I wear glasses while playing?

Our VR headsets are high-end and compatible with glasses. If your prescription is mild, you might not even need them. If you wear contact lenses, we recommend using them for a more comfortable experience.

What should I wear?

High heels are not allowed, as the experience takes place standing. We recommend comfortable clothing and footwear that allow you to move freely, crouch or turn around easily.
